Book Clubs

Bookworks Book Group, second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm. This long-running book club that focuses on thought-provoking new fiction and nonfiction chosen by its members is open to the public. The selection for February is Alexandra Fuller's Cocktail Hour Under the Tree of Forgetfulness.

Vamos a Leer Book Club, first Monday of each month at 5pm: This group is for educators and community members looking for engaging young adult literature with Latino themes. For February,  the group is reading Estrella's Quincenera. To see the current title and a list of titles, please visit Vamos a Leer's website. For March 4, the group will be reading Leaving Glorytown: One boy's Struggle Under Castro by Eduardo Calcines. For April 1, the selection is Marge Pellegrino's Journey of Dreams, and for May 6, the group is reading Under the Mesquite by Guadalupe Garcia McCall.
