Mobile Abolition Library: Open House & Book Drive

Wednesday, July 10, 2024 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Join us on Wednesday, July 10th between 6pm and 7:30pm to support the Mobile Abolition Library Book Drive! Led by Art for Justice fellow sheri crider and Bernadine Hernández and Martín Wannam, members of FRONTERISTXS Collective, attendees will have the chance to tour the newly unveiled mobile library and add a book to help fill its shelves.

The goal is to create a collection of books, zines, a video archive of incarcerated narratives, and an abolition seed library. The library will be a site to reflect on ways we can re-imagine our current world of surveillance, policing, punishment, and care between communities. In the spirit of generosity and abolition, we hope to have multiple copies of books to leave with readers and communities. Readers, bibliophiles and book lovers, and abolitionists world wide are encouraged to purchase the books for the traveling library.
