Randy Shamlian is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where his interest in screenwriting took hold after writing "Lincoln Shivered," a "what if" fiction story about Abraham Lincoln and that fated night at the Ford's Theater. Shamlian spent numerous years developing the screenwriting craft while honing his ability to create intriguing stories, characters with depth and fluid dialogue. His first novel, Deadly Recipe, is a story that was flushed out from a screenplay by the same name. A trilogy is in the works.
Shamlian has continued his interest in scriptwriting with a tv pilot he adapted from Sharkey a Novella he penned. It is about a London bookmaker who encounters the Greek gods as chaos ensues. Evidently, Sharkey is also a restaurateur who finds out over the course of time was sired by Poseidon. Zeus in the meantime instructs Poseidon to intervene in Sharkey's illicit match-fixing. Apparently, Sharkey plays both sides of the gambling coin.
He has also written a culinary memoir, A Slice of Apple Pie, that is often times tongue-in-cheek about his life growing up in New Jersey and California and his exposure to a variety of cultural foods which influenced his career choices as a baker, pastry chef and business owner. He explores his life choices that he made with an occasional blunder, yet it was baking that was his muse to which he created a wholesale cake company, won several apple pie contests and was a pastry chef for one of America's premier chefs.
